AWS was founded by both Tirhani Mabunda and Dr Murunwa Makwarela who own Tirhani Group Holdings www.tirhani.co.za and Bilimpili Holdings www.bilimpili.co.za respectively. Both companies are 100% BEE holdings and investment companies with interests in diversified divisions across different industries. Tirhani Group Holdings was; itself, founded by Tirhani Mabunda, a serial entrepreneur, self-made businessman, academic and administrator. While financial prosperity is a key determinant of Tirhani Group Holdings’ success, socio-economic impact is a key driver; particularly job creation, poverty alleviation and reduction of inequality. Bilimpili Holdings was however, founded by Dr Murunwa Makwarela who is a luminary in integrated rural development and green innovation.
